Mets Daily Prospect Report, 6/19/24: Touch ‘em all Pablo, you deserve it! (2024)

Triple-A: Syracuse Mets (43-26)

SYRACUSE 12, ROCHESTER 2 (BOX)

Christian Scott really didn’t have his best stuff, but the offense had his back, plating a whopping twelve runs (four of which were scored when he was on the mound). Every Syracuse Met had at least one hit except for Mr. Brett Baty; Five players had multi-hit games, with Pablo Reyes having himself a career day. The second baseman went 5-5 and drove in 6. The 30-year-old, who made his debut in 2012, has a handful of three and four hit games, but has never had a five-hit game in his professional career. Likewise, the six runs he drove in are a single-game career best for him.

ROSTER ALERT: C Matt O’Neill assigned to Syracuse Mets from Binghamton Rumble Ponies.

Double-A: Binghamton Rumble Ponies (32-30)

BINGHAMTON 8, AKRON 7 (BOX)

A bullpen implosion turned what should’ve been a smooth cruise to victory into a nailbiter, but Binghamton held on to stay barely above the .500 mark. Tyler Stuart was decent in his five innings of work, but before he even stepped on the mound, he was gifted a three-run lead thanks to a Kevin Parada three-run homer, the beleaguered catcher’s first since May 22nd. The Rubberducks scratched across a few runs while Binghamton tacked on, and in the bottom of the eighth, the Rumble Ponies had an 8-3 lead. Trey McLoughlin came in to pitch the inning and had a hard go of it, allowing four runs on four hits and a walk. Thankfully, he got out of the inning without giving up the lead and his replacement in the ninth, Wilkin Ramos, held on for his seventh save.

High-A: Brooklyn Cyclones (32-32)

JERSEY SHORE 7, BROOKLYN 2 (BOX)

Early on, Brooklyn and Jersey were fighting tooth-and-nail, but the BlueClaws ran away with things in the late-innings. With the score knotted up at two-apiece, Jersey Shore scored five unanswered runs late, two in the seventh and three more in the ninth. It pains me to say, but Brooklyn just isn’t a good team right now, despite their (now) 32-32 record. There isn’t exactly anyone down in St. Lucie lighting it up and forcing a promotion like Nick Morabito did last month (he’s hitting .296/.395/.385 with more reasonable batted ball data thankfully), but guys like Simon Juan, Jeremy Rodriguez, Julio Zayas, and Jake Zitella are doing really good down in the complex and optimally should be promoted to St. Lucie sooner-rather-than-later, prompting some roster moves up to Brooklyn.

ROSTER ALERT: RHP Henry Henry assigned to Brooklyn Cyclones from St. Lucie Mets.

Single-A: St. Lucie Mets (21-43)

ST. LUCIE 6, FORT MYERS 1 (BOX)

A rate St. Lucie win! The Mets took the lead on the power of a first-inning Jesus Baez homer and never looked back. Joel Diaz was solid for four-plus innings, blanking the Mussels. The only run Fort Myers would score was barely a run, in fact. The rehabbing Bryce Montes de Oca started the sixth and walked the bases full, prompting his removal. His replacement, Gregori Louis, hit the first batter he faced before retiring the side and eventually finishing the game.

Rookie: FCL Mets (14-16)

FCL METS 6, FCL NATIONALS 2 (BOX)
