Little League draws first-round pairings for Baseball and Softball World Series Tournaments (2024)

South Williamsport, Pa.— Little League International has named the first-round pairings for this year's Baseball and Softball World Series Tournaments.

During a historic all-female baseball game at Howard J. Lamade Stadium, players and special pro guests pulled random envelopes out of a bucketto determine the first-round matchups for the Little League Baseball and Softball World Series.

This year’s drawings included some special guests, with Athletes Unlimited Pro Softball players Tori Vidales and Sam Fische leading the drawings for the Softball World Series.

The Baseball World Series drawing show was hosted by ESPN KidsCast's young journalist Pepper Persley and was held at the Maria Pepe Little League Baseball Legacy Series, the first all-female baseball game held at Howard J. Lamade Stadium.

A video featuring both drawings has been uploaded to the Little League YouTube page.

Home and away designations for the LLSWS and LLBWS games will be decided via coin flip during the respective manager briefings held prior to the start of the tournament. The drawings were held so that the regions who received a bye in the 2023 Little League Softball World Series would not receive a bye in 2024. For the Little League Baseball World Series, similarly, the draw ensured that regions who competed in the first play-in games in 2023 would not be featured in those matchups for this year.

In addition to these first-round pairings, the official brackets for each of the U.S. Region Tournaments for these events have been released and are available on their respective tournament websites at LittleLeague.org/WorldSeries.
