A fun little volume with stories that feel like they could slot into the spaces of the main storyline. Nothing super memorable, but it’s nice stuff.

My Hero Academic: Team-Up Missions, Volume 1 is a fantastic, unique spin-off of My Hero Academia! If you wanted cool team ups on the side then this book is for you! It's a fast paced, great selection of stories and team ups that didn't happen in the original series. I found it to be a little difficult to jump into because I haven't read all of the original manga. I would recommend doing that as I think it would help. I felt very lost! I still think this is an excellent idea to do some storylines not in the original manga. I did like that each story was like a one shot where they are all separate from each other bu in the same universe. That was nice! It makes reading it easier. Overall, this is a great manga! You'll love it if you like superheroes and you will definitely love it if you read the original manga series. Four out of five stars. Thank you to NetGalley and VIZ for providing me a free copy of this book in exchange of an honest review.

Lots of fun. I love the TV show, so I liked that this had all my favorite characters but has nothing to do with the show so it didn’t spoil it.

Absolutely adorable!!! It was great to read some fluffy side stories, especially with how dark the main manga has been recently. Plus seeing more of Tamaki, Mirko, Hawks, and Fat Gum was fantastic!

My brother lent me this little bonus book of My Hero Academia, it’s not written or drawn by Kohei Horikoshi but I thought it might be nice. It was but so much less, so much less than the original saga that in the end, I don’t see much interest, even for the fans.. To rent at the library instead of maybe buying... VERSION 🇷🇴 /🇫🇷 & MORE :

These are such cute little one shots! And the art style is charming too.

Cute. I just wish the stories were a little longer (I know, I know that isn't what "short" means). But the stories with Mirko and Hawks felt a little rushed. The story with Fat Gum and Amajiki felt like the perfect length and it was super cute to boot.

The stories are not bad. Though despite what the description of this manga says, there is only one student not from UA in this collection. The student not from UA is in the Support Section without powers. I kind of feel robbed because this volume promised that there was no telling who might be in these team ups. But it is just UA students and mostly just main characters from class 1A. But like I say not bad but negative stars for deceptive book blurb.

My. Jam! I'm so happy! This is exactly the sort of content I want from My Hero Academia. The kids doing their thing in low stakes environments, the pros being cool and supportive... it's all so good!

I received a copy of My Hero Academia: Team-Up Missions Vol. 1 in exchange for a fair and honest review. My Hero Academia: Team-Up Missions Vol. 1 is exactly what it promises to be: an entertaining series of team-ups following our favorite heroes in training. Shorts like these help to flesh out the series just a little bit more, providing more insight into their experience and training. It makes sense. There's no way we've seen all of the classes that U.A. High School puts their students through. Especially not Class 1A, who has been through so much, and thus pushed harder than ever before. Team-Up Missions Vol. 1 portrays Midoriya's first big team-up mission, alongside several other highly entertaining events. Whatever the focus may be on Deku, plenty of other characters get a chance to shine over the course as well. Some of whom were a major surprise – in the best of ways. Each team-up reads more like a one-shot, with no real need to be concerned about where they start or end. The goal is simply to show more of their training – and all of the chaos and fun that can be had along the way! My Hero Academia: Team-Up Missions is going to be a perfect read for all of the MHA fans out there – trust me on that one! Actually, I can't help but hope that some of these events will appear in the anime, even if only as filler. I'll take it! Check out more reviews over at Quirky Cat's Fat Stacks

Thank you to NetGalley, VIZ Media, Yoko Akiyama, and Kohei Horikoshi for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review. Being a solid My Hero Academia manga and anime fan, of course, I had to try this one out. It is very evident from the title that this book is a collection of short stories titled "Team-Up Missions" that revolve around various team-ups. Most take place after the heroes get their provisional licenses, though there was one story that was just a basic recap of the UA Class 1-A, which was the least interesting. There were two that tied into the first feature film featuring Melissa as one of the characters. My favorite was a team-up with Fat Gum, Suneater, Ida, and Yaoyorozu. A little girl was rescued by a handsome prince and she enlists the heroes to help her find this hero. I loved the twist on this one and it was all-around fun to see this team-up look fo her prince. While these stories, didn't add much to the characterization or main story, they were mostly fun to read and felt very much within the world of MHA. This is a fun spin-off with varied adventures featuring MHA fan-favorite characters.

I received a copy of the ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. A great side series for fans of My Hero Academia though they explain enough that new fans can follow along too. It’s a nice break from the main series with plenty of laughs and more details on side characters like Melissa. If you are looking for a light hearted complement to the main arc you have found the right series! Still plenty of villains and seeing Deku becoming even more “Plus Ultra!”.

I recommend watching the My Hero Academia anime series and seeing their first animated film—Two Heroes. That way, you’ll understand and connect with the characters more. Remember that this all took place in Season 5 after the Joint Training Arc. P. S. Tenya’s Quirk power was mentioned here. Now you know why.

This was a lot of fun. It was just cute little side stories but honestly, with as heavy as the main series can be, that's what I want sometimes. Between what I'm seeing here and what I got in the light novels, it's very much needed.

I really enjoyed seeing the characters in these cute side stories. And even though I read all the manga, I believe anyone who hasn’t read the main series would be able to read it too

This book is super fun and really lets us see how the kids interact with each other outside of the school and with heroes we haven't really been able to interact with as much. The comic shorts at the end and some reintroductions to other characters were huge highlights. The art is incredibly similar to the main story and I'm so thrilled with that because it feels like it's by the MHA creator himself! A perfect book for those into the main series already!

Welcome to the new spin-off series for My Hero Academia where our beloved characters team up with various heroes and heroes-in-training for one-shot adventures. This series begins sometime after all the students have their Provisional Licenses (so sometime after the Overhaul arc around volume 18; though, Bakugou is seen in his winter gear so it extends to at least sometime after volume 23; the one-shots seem to jump around the timeline) and also includes My Hero Academia: Two Heroes (the first movie) in the canon as there are cameos for both Melissa and David Shield. So Spoiler Warning! Overall, the one-shots are interesting and it fills in the gaps of day-to-day hero training that gets glossed over in the main series. However, there are places where this series feels like a gag manga. Obvious puns, overly exaggerated characters (pg 100-104 Bakugou was a little much, even for him), and the four-panel extras at the end made it feel less serious that the main story...which I guess it's kinda supposed to be that way. Either way, it's a fun little collection of side stories and I enjoyed it.

This series is great for fans who love My Hero Academia and want to learn more about the heroes in this universe. It is fun to see characters that were not given much time in the main manga. The side missions that the students go on with heroes are so much fun and gives a nice peek into more about them. For those that have just started My Hero Academia, it will be great to read Team-Up Missions alongside the main story arcs. For those that have already caught up with My Hero Academia, this is a great way to get more story and lore.

I loved getting to see some of the "backround " characters get a chance to shine in this series! And it was nice to read some lighthearted stories about both the students and pros working together. Looking forward to see who will appear in the next volume!
(especially after the latest chapters of the manga 😭)

This was my first time properly reading a manga, and i must say it was a fun experience! Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this in exchange for an honest review. I've only watched the anime for My Hero Academia, and it's one of my favourite anime which was why I was interested to read this spin off series by Yoko Akiyama. Team-Up missions basically features several mini missions that some of the main characters from the series (students in training to be pro heroes) go on while getting teamed up with pro heroes. I would say it's a very light and fun read because the missions are really quick and easy. Even though some of them were even silly missions, i found myself giggling here and there and going "awwww!" because it was quite wholesome! It was also refreshing to read this because the anime (and maybe even the original manga but I can't say for sure because I haven't read them) doesn't have very many "filler" episodes where all side characters get fleshed out. It was nice to get to see some of the side characters you don't see much in the anime, being in action in this. I'm not sure if someone who hasn't read or watched any My Hero Academia would enjoy Team-Up Missions, because they might get overwhelmed by all the characters being introduced. But it's definitely great for those who already love the series and want to have more of it. Also i must say, I'm really warming up towards reading manga!

ARC provided by NetGalley This was so fun and I'm so glad I was given an opportunity to read it. As a fan of the main series when I saw that this was available on NetGalley I had to check it out. I personally have not yet had the chance to try out any of the content from the My Hero universe aside from the main manga series, of which I am up to volume 24 at time of reading/writing. This was the perfect opportunity to broaden my horizons, and let me tell you it was great fun. It would also have been significantly more fun if I had seen the movie it kept making reference to, so if you've seen the movies you'll like this even more than I did. With this book consisting mostly of one-off "Team-Up" missions, if the title hadn't yet made that point clear, I feel like I should describe to you a bit of what each of these missions entailed. They were all for the most part self-contained and felt like the lives of our heroes outside of the major life or death crises they seem to face in the main series. We actually start this book off with All Might and he is a lot of fun, I wish we got to see more of him overall. Now onto the first team-up. We have Deku, Uraraka, and Bakugo. This can only go well, I say sarcastically. And they get to work with Mirko, you know the buff rabbit lady. She is definitely a hero we have seen little out of so it was good to work with her and see how the characters played off of one another. The villain of this story is an interesting one and there is a very satisfying conclusion to be found here. Our next team-up also shows no flaws or is in any way concerning, I say super sarcastically. Deku, Bakugo, and Hawks. I will leave you to imagine all the possible ways that could play out and tell you no more. This was my favorite story in the book though. The next story and the last one feature some characters from the movies. Having not seen the movies I feel underqualified to speak on the nature of these chapters in full. But do note that they were enjoyable and provided enough information to make sense and didn't make me feel too far outside of the loop. The next team up mission provides us with a fun cast of characters. We are given Ida and Momo sent to work alongside Tamaki and Fat Gum. They all actually end up having the most fun and silly mission in the book. They have to help a little girl find the hero who saved her during a recent minor villain attack, only she doesn't know anything about him. This then leads them on a romp around the area visiting a bunch of other heroes and students mixed up in interesting pairings. The last story I have left to tell you about was ok. It has a setup that if taken at face value is frankly ridiculous. A kid has his soccer ball stolen by some older kids and then accidentally recruits what appears to be like half of class 1-A and All Might to get it back. It was a bit campy as far as stories go but it was still good. Fans of the series should definitely give this a go in order to experience some more fun and down to earth stories with the characters we have grown to love within the universe of My Hero.

Received a free copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Absolutely adored this one! This follows a bunch of MHA characters through a variety of hero missions. We see more of the pro heroes which is always a plus, but the most surprising thing to me was the story following Hatsume & Melissa (the girl from the first MHA movie). It was really adorable and I didn't even think about that kind of team-up before so that was a great surprise. All the characters felt in-character and it's a nice expansion to the MHA universe. The Bakugo family comics were hysterical. I don't know how they function in society at all. I love it!

I received an eARC courtesy of VIZ Media via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. A simple collections of vignettes. This will certainly please My Hero fans. Always nice to get small glimpses into their world (and we finally get to see David's quirk-which is delightfully random). For Libraries: While nothing about this is super wow-worthy, if you have fans (like I do), you will want this in your collection.
